About the CE Program
The Computer Engineering major at the University of Utah is administered by both the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department and the School of Computing.
This organization mirrors the interdisciplinary nature of the Computer Engineering Program: students will learn both hardware and software in addition to the skills to combine the two to become successful computer engineers.
Program Objectives
The Computer Engineering program is designed with the following objectives:
Providing an interdisciplinary undergraduate computer-engineering education grounded in the fundamental principles and applications of computer and engineering science.
Preparing students for competent, responsible, and rewarding careers in the computer engineering profession.
Preparing students, who choose to continue on to graduate school, at a level of competency sufficient for admission to and successful completion of graduate school.
The Computer Engineering curriculum provides students with a sufficient background in mathematics, computer science, and engineering sciences to analyze and design complex software and hardware systems.
